My Inspiration… We must celebrate our uniqueness…
This is me at 4, I found so much freedom in twirling whirling and dancing, In yoga it is said that our character is formed by the age of 7, our hopes, dreams, values, beliefs, our fears and desires.
By 7, I found yoga, or yoga found me, in an after school club with Mrs Newman teaching us Hatha yoga, and this felt like me, I was at HOME. I loved gymnastics too, I’d get lost in the movement, in the activity.
My deepest joyfull memories were in solitude, spending time BEING in nature, in our family garden listening to wood pigeons, enjoying the flowers, soaking up the sun at the beach with the hypnotic sound of the sea These are the memories of when I felt the bliss and freedom. It’s these experiences that nourish me to this day and that is our true nature, to be that free.
We all have a deep need to be our true SELF
What gets in the way of the Bliss?
Part of my understanding as a quester of truth and healing is somehow we believe we are flawed, and that if we were authentic we would not be acceptable. Most people I work with that have reached standards of success say they don’t deserve it, they were lucky, an imposter. Never feeling good enough creates separation, and loneliness on the deepest level. Another hindrance is the belief we are the one’s who “DO” it all, that if we work super hard we’ll get to where we want to be, and yet we never quite get there, or we don’t appreciate or enjoy the journey and the achievements, we miss the bliss.
How about doing less and being more?
I know when I let go a little in the mind, so much creativity flows in, when we try to control life we leave no space for the unexpected, for the magic.
Being versus doing Mindfulness versus Heartfulness
Weaved into every part of my work and with who I am is Mindfulness and Noticing. Mindfulness is a secular way of saying Yoga. The meaning of the word Yoga, is to yoke, to unite and connect with everything, in your experience NOW.
To notice the subtleties of life.
This practice of noticing has deepened my skills a coach and as an actress, for the fear of judgment (stage fright), nerves and the adrenalin I experienced would be overwhelming, crippling. I was judging myself before the audience got a chance. This inner critic would crush my spontaneity and freedom and I had to become free at any cost!
It takes courage to fully show up, be held accountable, to be Seen.
Yoga, mindfulness, breathing and becoming conscious of my limiting beliefs transformed my life and performance over time, mastering fear, I have become an expert in the area of communicating authentically with impact.
I now LOVE speaking in public, being seen and empowering others to do the same.
I could say that for most of my adult life I have delved deep into enquiry around what makes us live small or great. I’ve developed my “fierceness” or “robust” thinking, overcoming many limits and I’m still learning, growing and evolving, and this is what makes me such an amazing coach. It’s my passion, my addiction… To be free of fear to reach my full potential and inspire others do the same.
What I would say is if you decide to work with me, is that I AM LOVE, this is what I lead with, LOVE, yes I’ll say it again. I am astute, insightful, intuitive and I’ll let you know how I see it, I did spend many years trying to hide this and fit in to what I thought was acceptable.
BUT, LOVE and KINDNESS are what ignite excite and inspire me.
- I understand first hand how paralyzing our minds can be.
- I have immense understanding and compassion.
- I have tried, tested tools and techniques that work!
I have much experience of coaching others with anxiety, depression, burnout, panic attacks, public speaking, anger, limiting beliefs, low self esteem, lack of confidence. Big changes in work or relationships, desire to excel, be promoted….and to feel good, feel love again, to enjoy life and relationships.
I train hundreds of people in influencing skills, impactful communication and the biggy – self confidence. For me the biggest learning came when I had my daughter Izzy. I was 31, I began working with a super sexy company Idology. The ID stands for Identity and ology the study of. We trained people to BE more them! That their brand, their selling point was their unique self and to celebrate that. When coaching executives I notice what holds most people back is the demand on ourselves for perfection. The pressure we put on ourselves actually creates the opposite. All the authenticity and humanness drains from the person and a bland shadow is there in its place.
To give people permission to be real, to have edges, then the magic appears, most artists would say their best work comes from their mistakes. To authentically share your experience in the moment, the transformation is electric communication becomes spontaneous and captivating.
Finally as well as coaching and inspiring people from all walks of life, I run a women’s network. Women of all ages and creeds come to share their wisdom get inspired, exchange ideas and at the heart of it, support each other.
I heard a saying recently, behind every great woman is a circle of great women!
